Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that highlights the books you are most anticipating. This week's exciting soon-to-be-released reads provide a double dose of Alice in Wonderland amazingness: Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter, due out September 25 from Harlequin Teen, and Splintered by A.G. Howard, due out January 2013 from Amulet Books.

I don't know that there really needs to be any synopsis of Alice in Zombieland, they quite literally had me sold with the title and the gorgeous cover! Splintered sounds equally amazing, and is about Alyssa Gardner, who happens to be a direct descendant of Lewis Carroll's original "Alice" inspiration, Alice Liddell. Her mother has been sent to the mental hospital after she professes that she can hear bugs and plants speaking to her, an ailment that Alyssa herself suffers from. Now, she and her swoon-worthy friend Jeb must descend down the rabbit hole to uncover the truth of the dark and twisted Wonderland, and right the wrongs of Alice Liddell in order to rid her family of an evil curse.
What are you eagerly awaiting this week?

Yes it's a whole new story! There was a book by the same name that came out last year (I think) that was just the original story retold with zombies (like Pride & Prejudice & Zombies). This one is totally original though!
DeleteAlice in Zombieland looks awesome! Can't wait to read it!
